Pastor Robbie Casas

Senior Pastor, GLCC

Ptr. Robbie was born in Manila on January 20, 1961. He graduated with a degree in Business Management from Ateneo de Manila University. Happily married to Sis. Mavie for 34 years (as of this writing), they are blessed with four children and two grandchildren: Mons (married to Rae, with whom he has twin boys, Rio and Teo), Migs, Chrissy,  all professionals in their respective fields, and Corinne, who is a first year college at the University of the Philippines, Baguio. When he was in 3rd year high school, a group of Baptists shared the gospel to him. Seven years later, he spoke with his Christian aunt who invited him to a Bible study where he once again heard the gospel and on January 5, 1985, he finally surrendered his life to Christ.

At the height of his professional career which took him in the path of being an Executive Assistant in a tourism consultancy firm, then an English and Socio-Economics teacher at the Ateneo High School, then a Human Resource Development Consultant, then a Commercial and Studio photographer and businessman, and finally as a General Manager of a multi-national para-legal support firm, he decided to leave the secular life in 1989 to heed the call to serve God in full time ministry as a pastor in his former church.

After the July 1990 earthquake in Northern Luzon, Ptr. Robbie was assigned to Baguio as an Outreach Pastor. Six years later, however, his former church chose to take a new direction in ministry which seriously undermined the gospel message and the sufficiency of Scripture. This caused Ptr. Robbie to resign from the church and to start a new church to continue pursuing biblical ministry. It was then that in 1996 Guiding Light Christian Church was founded.

By God's grace and providence, GLCC turned 22 last July 2018.

Bro. Mon Moredo

Church Elder

Bro. Mon was born in Manila on December 10, 1955. His primary and secondary education years were spent in Mindoro, and took up Business Management at PSBA in Quezon City. Married to Sis. Fran (Pao), they are blessed with three children: Dan, Yda and Ayla.

Raised in a Christian home and church, Bro. Mon was exposed to regular family devotions, Bible stories, church doctrines as well as many Christian activities. Despite his Christian exposure, he viewed himself as having a sinful character specially during his teen-age and early adult years.

He held refugee-processing related jobs in the Philippines and Hong Kong (1994). He worked as a language instructor and as an office employee. Although he handled managerial level positions with a good salary that afforded him a luxurious lifestyle, he considered his life to be meaningless, miserable and empty.

In the middle of 1995, after spending over a year abroad, he prayed for six months about returning to the Philippines as he desired to hear and truly understand the gospel again. It was during his last months in Hong Kong that God touched his heart and prompted him to read the Gospel. Moved by this experience, he pleaded for God's forgiveness and he confessed that only Christ can save him. He finally came home by the end of 1995.

He went back to his former church in 1996 and became a committed Christian. In May 2001, he began attending the Sunday services at GLCC and in 2002, he was invited to join the Steering Committee. It was in 2012 however that he committed himself to full time Christian service.

Bro. Gary Estacio

Member, Steering Committee

Gary was born in Dupax, Nueva Vizcaya on September 25, 1969, and grew up in Real, Quezon Province. He took up Instrumentation and Control Technology at Don Bosco Technical College and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering as a working student. He currently works as a Facilities Requested Services Manager at Texas Instruments Incorporated in Baguio City. He is happily married to Sis Precy De Leon, and is blessed with 5 children: Sarah, followed by Gary Jr., Dustin, Earl, and Boaz. All of them except Boaz (who is still a toddler) are currently working in Canada.

Gary was born to a Christian mother and was introduced to Christian values while growing up. However, these traits were not seen in him as he was growing up. He later moved up to Baguio after graduating college.  After the 1990 earthquake, an officemate invited him to a Bible study where he eventually began to know Jesus Christ and accepted Him as his Lord and Savior. He also began to attend the church where the leader in the Bible study he was invited to also attended and soon began to take his Christian walk seriously. It was also during this time where he began to struggle, particularly in his family life, but God in His grace used the Church where he attended helped him during those times of struggle.

Situations turned from bad to worse in Gary’s life after joining the separation from the former church in 1996. In 2003, the situation became more difficult as he was left with his 4 children (who were all young at that time) to take care and raise but it was during these trying and difficult circumstances where he came to know the Lord and obey Him even more. It was those times where he learned to trust in the Lord and allow Him to work through such situations.

Gary began to be actively involved in ministry in 2009 and currently serves as the Ministry Head of the Greeters and Ushers Ministry (GUM) of the Church. By the grace of God, he continues to grow in his character as he also a member of the Steering Committee since 2013.

Bro. Joey Fernandez

Member, Steering Committee

Joey was born in Manila on Oct. 20, 1965. Shortly after he was born, his family moved to Baguio where he completed his studies and graduated with a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering. He worked in an IT division of a commercial bank and enjoyed the comforts and success that came with the job.

He surrendered his life to Christ after hearing the gospel preached in a church that was established right after the 1990 earthquake hit Baguio. His growth in Christ was gradual (slow even), but he had a desire for it to be patterned after Colossians 2:6-7: "Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude".

GLCC played a significant role in his life. Here, he was married to Marita, a busy, small business owner with a heart for prayer. They are blessed with 3 children: Kate, Tintin, and Bea. Here in GLCC, he saw himself and his family grow in Christ. In 2016, he retired from his job and decided to help Marita run the family business. Despite the busy schedules and challenges brought about by the growing enterprise, the couple is involved in the different ministries and activities of the church, serving with a heart of gladness and gratitude. It is from this heart that Joey sits as a member of the Steering Committee as an elder-in-training, since 2017.
